As a follow-up to one of my previous posts, I’m sharing some crazy, magical synchronicities I’ve experienced first-hand. The Swiss psych Carl Jung was the person who coined this term ( synchronicity = meaningful coincidence.) He believed they are outward manifestations of our internal landscape, generated from our consciousness.
Others such as Neville Goddard, many other proponents of the Law of Attraction, and even quantum physicists, also share this view of what shows up in our external reality, being a reflection of the internal, “ As within, so without.” / “ The Observer Effect” etc.
Here are some of the most interesting I’ve experienced so far! 💫Please feel free to reply /post with your own !
a) As a university student ( back when I was around 20 years old ) I was visiting my then-boyfriend at his university – also in South Wales. The one evening, he had some friends over, who were also students at his university, and whom he’d met through lectures.
I was chatting to one of his new-found friends, and asked him whereabouts in the UK he was from originally.
The friend of my ex- let’s call him Rich ( not his actual name ) – chuckled a little, and said “I’m from this tiny, obscure little village in Devon ( in England) that nobody has heard about.”
As he told me the name of this village, my eyes widened in disbelief, I felt stunned and amazed, and I believe I may have laughed a little and developed goosebumps!
It transpired that the ‘tiny, obscure little village that nobody has heard about’ was somewhere I not only knew of, but had VISITED on a school trip back when I was 10/11 years old! 😲
When I was this age ( the final year of primary school), our class had participated in a penpal scheme – where we were paired with a class of the same – age pupils from the tiny village in Devon. We each wrote an introductory letter, providing some basic details about our interests, hobbies, our school, and life in South East Wales.
When the letters reached the school in Devon, they were each matched to someone in the class , and we therefore were assigned penpals.
I fondly recall the excitement with which we awaited each letter from our new penpals !
During the course of the school year, two trips were arranged. One for us to visit the tiny Devonshire village ( which I remember being beautiful, very green with historic buildings, and possessing a single village shop! ) , and the other, for the Devon pupils to visit us in South Wales, where we visited a formerly used mine known as Big Pit, in a town called Blaenavon.
So, returning back to my then 20 year old self visiting my boyfriend at uni, and speaking with his friend ‘Rich.’ …I told him, with amazement, that not only did I know of his tiny home village, I had VISITED it – and even possessed a coaster bearing its name and a photo! I had purchased this as a souvenir from the single village shop whilst there !
A further synchronicity abounded when it transpired that ‘Rich’ was quite a good friend of the girl I’d had as a penpal at the time ( unfortunately but perhaps unsurprisingly, my penpal and I didn’t maintain contact throughout our teenage years .)
I’ve experienced many crazy, and seemingly magical synchronicities in life – some of this magnitude, and others seemingly ‘smaller’ from an outsider’s perspective – but still completely awe-inspiring and supplying me with that ‘magical’ feeling!
Please feel free to share your own personal experiences of synchronicity in the comments, or in blog posts- I’d greatly enjoy reading them ! Further parts to follow of my own experiences! 🦋
